Can I configure automatic updates for apps distributed with VPP for each device?

You cannot turn automatic updates ON/OFF for each device, but you can control it for each template.

■ VPP app management specifications • Apps can be updated only through the MDM (Apple specification) • Automatic updates can be turned ON/OFF for each template (BizMobile Go! specification)

■ Operation tips If you need fine-grained control for each device, consider using templates as follows:

  1. Use a template with automatic updates OFF for normal use
  2. If you want to run automatic updates only on specific devices, such as for update testing:
  3. Copy the template and set automatic updates to ON
  4. Move the target devices to that template
  5. Run a sync manually

■ Related feature By using the Copy Template feature, you can easily duplicate a configured template and switch automatic updates ON/OFF as needed.
