The USB connection between iPhone/iPad and a PC is not recognized
When you connect an iPhone/iPad to a Mac or Windows PC by USB, the following symptoms may occur:
• Finder on the Mac or iTunes on Windows does not recognize the device
• Data cannot be sent or received between the Mac or Windows and the device
• USB tethering cannot be used
These behaviors may be caused by profile settings that restrict USB connections (pairing). Check the following items in each profile.
Settings to check
1. Configuration profile settings (applied only to supervised devices)
• Profile → Restrictions → Allow pairing with non-Configurator hosts (supervised only, iOS 7.0+)
If it is not allowed, change it to Allow, install the changed profile on the device, and then try connecting again.
Note: Confirm that the changed profile has been installed on the device by checking that the sync status is Synchronized.
2. ADE profile settings
• AUTO ENROLLMENT → Apple ADE → Profile → Allow pairing with host PC
(This item could be set in older versions of the ADE profile (the former DEP profile).)
If it is not allowed, create a new ADE profile and assign the device to it (profile settings cannot be edited).
Note: Assigning a device to a new ADE profile requires initializing it.
