Restrict Wi-Fi networks (iOS/iPadOS)
This page explains how to combine profile settings so that a device can connect only to the Wi-Fi networks whose settings are distributed from BizMobile Go!.
The device must be Supervised and running iOS / iPadOS 10.3 or later.
Combination of settings
Create the following two settings as separate profiles, and assign them to the same template.
| Profile | Setting | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Wi-Fi profile | Wi-Fi | Distributes the Wi-Fi network that devices are allowed to connect to (SSID, security type, password, and so on). If there are multiple Wi-Fi networks that devices are allowed to connect to, configure each network separately. |
| Restriction profile | Restrictions (Functionality) | Turn on Join only Wi-Fi networks installed by a Wi-Fi payload.Devices can then connect only to the Wi-Fi networks distributed with the Wi-Fi payload of the profile. |
Wi-Fi and Restrictions in separate profilesApple recommends configuring the Wi-Fi payload and Restrictions (Functionality) in separate profiles instead of combining them in one profile.
If you combine them in one profile, changing the Wi-Fi settings replaces the entire profile, including the restrictions, which can cause problems such as the device being unable to connect to Wi-Fi.
Setup procedure
Create the Wi-Fi profile
- Select CONFIG > Profile, and click

Synchronized.
If the contents of the Wi-Fi payload (such as the SSID or password) are incorrect, the device cannot connect to any Wi-Fi network.
A device without a cellular connection also cannot communicate with the MDM, so verify the settings carefully before applying them.
Join only Wi-Fi networks installed by a Wi-Fi payload is not applied to unsupervised devices.
