What happens when the Apple Push certificate expires?
When the certificate expires, communication between the server and devices is lost, and you can no longer manage devices from the admin console at all.
- Enrollment of new Apple devices does not complete
- The latest device information (status) cannot be obtained
- Apps, profiles, and books cannot be installed, updated, or removed on devices
- Emergency actions such as wiping or (Admin) locking a device cannot be performed
To prepare for emergencies, renew the Push certificate before it expires.
note
- Even after the certificate expires, the settings and apps from installed profiles remain valid, so devices can still be used for normal work.
- You can still renew the certificate after it expires.
