Mac deployment flow using neither ADE (formerly DEP) nor VPP (per-device authentication)
If you are new to BizMobile Go!, are about to start preparing device setup (kitting), or are taking over management of devices already in operation, use this page to find the procedures for the tasks you need. This page describes the deployment flow for Macs that do not use Apple Business (formerly Apple Business Manager).
If you do not use Apple Business, you cannot distribute apps. Apps for Mac can be distributed only as App Store apps through VPP, so apps cannot be distributed if you do not use VPP. In-house apps cannot be distributed. Management relies mainly on profile settings and remote operations. Also, per-device authentication is the only enrollment method for Mac. Create device information in advance for each device with an identifier of your choice.
