Mac deployment flow using VPP only (per-device authentication)
If you are new to BizMobile Go!, are about to start preparing device setup (kitting), or are taking over management of devices already in operation, use this page to find the procedures for the tasks you need. This page describes the deployment flow for Macs that use only VPP in Apple Business (formerly Apple Business Manager).
Use this pattern to manage devices that cannot be enrolled in ADE (such as Macs already in use).
Per-device authentication is the only enrollment method for Mac. Create device information in advance for each device with an identifier of your choice. Shared QR code authentication (automatic identifier generation) is not supported. Only App Store apps can be distributed, and only through VPP. In-house apps cannot be distributed.
