Enrollment procedure for iOS/iPadOS devices

The enrollment method to use depends on how the device is managed.
Choose an enrollment method from the following, depending on whether you use ADE (formerly DEP) and whether you use the device as a Shared iPad.

Enroll with a QR code / Key and Code / enrollment email / SMS (without ADE)
This is the enrollment procedure that authenticates with individual device information prepared in advance. Use this procedure if you do not use ADE.

Deploy with Apple device shared QR code authentication (unsupervised devices)
You set in advance only the conditions for automatically generating devices and users. You do not need to prepare device information individually. Device information is generated automatically when a device is enrolled by scanning the shared QR code.

Enroll an ADE (formerly DEP) device
This is the enrollment procedure for ADE (formerly DEP) devices registered in Apple Business. Enrollment completes when you erase the device and activate it.

Enroll a Shared iPad
This is the enrollment procedure for a Shared iPad (ADE device). Enrollment completes when you erase the device and activate it.
