Set Up Device Owner Mode Using Android ADB Developer Tools

The final step in making a device manageable is to enroll it. When enrollment is complete, the device is registered in BizMobile Go! as an MDM device and can be managed.

To enroll a device, reset it, follow the procedure to set up Device Owner mode, and then enter the Key/Code when the BizMobile Go! MDM agent app appears.

When enrollment is complete and the device is registered in BizMobile Go!, the profiles, apps, and other items registered in the device's template are distributed to the device, completing device setup (kitting) automatically.

Note: You need a PC (Windows or Mac) with Android SDK Platform Tools installed and set up.

  1. Reset the device. From the device's Settings menu, select System → Reset options → Erase all data (factory reset) to reset it.
Note: The menu name may differ depending on the model.

  1. After the reset, confirm that no accounts, such as a Google account, are set up on the device.
To check, select Accounts from the device's Settings menu.

  1. Before installing the BizMobile MDM agent app, we recommend allowing Install unknown apps.
From the device's Settings menu, select Security, and then enable Device management: Allow installation of apps from sources other than Play Store.

  1. Enable Developer options on the device (disabled by default).
From the device's Settings menu, select About phone, and then keep tapping Build number until You are now a developer! appears.

  5. Run the following command to install the app on the device.
    adb install Android+Agent.apk
  6. If Success is displayed in the command output as follows, the app has been installed.
