Deploy with an Android Shared Device QR Code (Device Owner Mode)

warning

QR code-based Device Owner setup is not available on devices running Android 9 or earlier. Use Device Owner setup with a BizMobile ID instead.

info

Some models do not support Device Owner mode setup using a QR code.
In that case, set up Device Owner mode by another method, such as Set Up Device Owner Mode Using a BizMobile ID.

info

A shared device QR code you have created cannot be deleted while devices are being managed.
To delete it, you must first delete all devices and users that were created with that shared device QR code.

What is a shared QR code?
A shared QR code is a single QR code that contains device enrollment information and can be shared by multiple devices. Scanning one QR code performs both the Device Owner setup and the device enrollment.
Devices that enroll with the same QR code are automatically assigned an identifier that contains a common suffix.
You can enroll by scanning the QR code without creating device information, including an identifier, in advance. After enrollment is complete, you can check the device information under CONFIG → Device.
Note: When you enroll multiple devices with the same QR code, wait a few minutes between enrollments.

Create an Android Shared QR Code

  1. Click Create under AUTO ENROLLMENT → ANDROID SHARED QR CODE.

  2. Enter the required information on the screen that appears.

    DescriptionYou can add any description.
Device ID SuffixSpecify the suffix that is automatically appended to the device identifier when a device enrolls with this shared QR code.
The identifier consists of a 6-digit number followed by the suffix. Numbers are assigned automatically in the order of enrollment and cannot be changed after enrollment.
    (Example) Identifier: 000001bizgodevice
000001 = automatically assigned number, bizgodevice = suffix

Enroll a Device Using an Android Shared QR Code

The final step in making a device manageable is to enroll it. When enrollment is complete, the device is registered in BizMobile Go! and can be managed.

To register a device in MDM, reset it, scan the shared QR code as described in the enrollment procedure, and follow the on-screen instructions to make it ready for use (activation). This automatically completes both the Device Owner setup and the enrollment in BizMobile Go!.

When enrollment is complete and the device is registered in BizMobile Go!, the profiles, apps, and other items registered in the device's template are distributed to the device, completing device setup (kitting) automatically.

Note: Some models do not support Device Owner mode setup using a QR code.
In that case, set up Device Owner mode by another method, such as Set Up Device Owner Mode Using a BizMobile ID.
Note: The images show the settings screens on a Pixel 4a running Android 13.
